About us
PEJ Consulting, Inc. is a Southern California based consulting boutique helping businesses manage their finances more effectively. We provide various services including technical accounting, GAAP standards implementation, SEC reporting and compliance, audit preparation and IPO readiness, compilation of financial statements, financial modeling, fractional CFO and controllership services, cash flow stabilization, M&A. Our services are customizable, so you only pay for the help you need and our rates are designed to be affordable for all kinds of small businesses.

Our founder, Patrice Launay CPA, has over 25 years of experience in various financial reporting functions. He spent over 15 years in big five public accounting companies like KPMG PwC, BDO (USA and Australia) where he gained significant exposure to technical accounting, SEC reporting, IPO and audit preparation in multiple reporting standards (US GAAP, IFRS and French GAAP).
Patrice also served as CFO for a Nasdaq-listed company for over four years, where he led SEC compliance and reporting, raised capital, supervised the audit process and the company's accounting and treasury department.

As a financial consultant, Mr. Launay has advised mid-sized and large publicly traded companies on their reporting obligations, month-end and year-end close processes, technical accounting matters, the implementation of new accounting standards, and the design and execution of effective internal controls. His diverse background also includes serving as an audit manager for the City Auditor’s Office of Long Beach, California, and as a financial controller for a major manufacturing group in France.

Mr. Launay holds a master’s degree in finance and accounting from the Business School of Tours in France (ESCEM) and a MBA from Rutgers University. He also holds several professional certifications, including an active California Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, inactive Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification, a Series 65 securities license, and a Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA) certification from the Corporate Finance Institute
